Nursery Procedures and Regulations

Bringing Children To The Nursery
Children should arrive at the Nursery by 08:00 a.m. The Nursery door will be locked at 08:00 a.m. and late arrivals will have to use the Principal’s office door. To ensure that the Nursery’s environment is quiet and orderly, parents are kindly requested not to accompany their children inside the Nursery, they may, however, arrange to visit the Nursery after school hours by prior appointment.

The Principal or the Teacher-in-Charge will be available to meet parents bringing their children to the Nursery, to discuss any inquiries or urgent matters.

Collecting Children After School
Children are not allowed out of the Nursery before 12:50 p.m. unless the Nursery is notified in advance whereby special arrangement can be agreed.
For security reasons, Children can only be collected by one of their parents, guardians or persons authorised by the parent in writing using the special authorisation form, which should be handed over to the Nursery administration in advance. Telephone authorisation can exceptionally be accepted, provided a proof of identity (Civil ID) is presented to the school.

Children should be collected between the hours of 12:50 and 01:00 p.m. Please contact the school in case of any delay so that the school can arrange in advance for a responsible member of staff to remain with the child.

School Meals
The School will provide the children with two balanced meals each day (Breakfast at 08:30 a.m. and Lunch at 12:00 noon).

Please do not send any sweet or drinks, as that will upset other children and disrupt the school system.

Birthdays
Birthdays are very special occasions at Gulf Montessori nurseries. All the children will particiapte in singing and playing musical instruments, making the event an enjoyable one.

The School will be pleased to arrange for Birthday Parties. If your child has an upcoming birthday, please notify the Nursery at least two days in advance to discuss the arrangements.

Bulletin Board
Please check daily for news and events.

Outings and Day Trips
The Nursery will from time to time arrange outings to places of special interest. We will inform you well in advance to obtain your approval.

Parents are encouraged and welcome to join their children on these outings. Please let us know if you wish to join to discuss the arrangements.

Daily Time Table
You will be provided with our Daily Time Table for your information.
The Nursery may change this time table as necessary to meet the children’s needs.

Nappies
The school will accept children with nappies who have started their toilet training and the Nursery staff will continue this training with them.

Parents Meeting
The Nursery will be arranging Parents’ Meetings during the year. The first one is expected to be during the third week of October.

Missing Materials
Please be aware that any material with a missing part is removed from the children’s use until the part can be replaced. Searching for and replacing missing parts takes an inordinate amount of time and effort.

Any small object you may find in your child’s bag, or pockets, regardless of how insignificant it may seem or whom he says gave it to him, should be returned to the nursery.
